What’s Included in My J-1 Cultural Fees:

  • Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J-1) Status (DS-2019)
  • Health insurance coverage for the full 12 months
  • Placement opportunity at a U.S. hotel, including the Training/Internship Placement Plan (DS-7002). *(Specific Location/Custom Request available for an additional fee)
  • Full J-1 cultural exchange program process, including acting as a liaison with your Host and/or Sponsor throughout your program
  • Referral to a J-1 tax specialist for filing Federal and State Taxes
  • J-1 USA handbook and pre-departure orientation from our partner organization
  • Access to the HPUSA Facebook Community and Alumni Group
  • 30-day grace period for travel (not work) after your visa expires
  • Typically includes airport pick-up and up to 2 weeks of free hotel accommodation upon arrival (subject to the host’s discretion)
  • Ongoing support throughout the program

Program fees do not cover:

  • Visa fee at the US Embassy
  • SEVIS payment fee
  • Airfare for arrival and departure in the US

Additional Information:

  • Please note, there are no hidden fees.
  • We do not require any bonds.
  • We do not offer “fly now, pay later” options.

Refund Policy:

Refunds for program fees are available under the following circumstances:

  • If your visa is refused, you will receive a refund as outlined in the HPUSA Terms & Conditions.

Refunds are not provided under these situations:

  • If you withdraw from the program after the DS-2019 form and/or visa has been issued.
  • If you withdraw after arriving in the United States or once your program has started.
  • If you are involuntarily terminated due to performance or rule violations, as determined by your host employer or sponsor organization, or if you voluntarily terminate, as HPUSA does not control employment or sponsorship conditions.
